Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I have to be a YMCA member to participate in programs and classes?
A: No. Anyone is welcome to take part in YMCA programs and classes. Look for the "Community Registration" dates and sign up! Members benefit from reduced fees and an advanced sign up date for classes, but all are welcome to take part in our programs.
Q: What if I can't afford to become a member or sign up for a program?
A: The YMCA believes in providing membership and program services to all who desire to participate. The YMCA's Scholarship Program, supported in part through contributions to the Strong Kids Campaign, provides membership and program scholarships for those in need within our available resources. Contact your local branch for more information.
Q: When can I register for classes?
A: YMCA members can register for classes at any time. If you’re not a member, you are welcome to register once community registration opens for a session, which typically occurs about two weeks before the session starts.
Q: Why don’t I see some types of classes at certain branches?
A: Each branch only lists the program categories available at that branch. Branches without pools, for example, will probably not list aquatics programs.
Q: What if my credit card is declined?
A: Do NOT hit the “back” button on your browser. Instead, use the buttons on the screen to go back to the page where you enter your card information and proceed from there. The "back" button may cause your card to be charged multiple times.
Q: Can I apply my scholarship to a program that I register for online?
A: At this time, we are unable to process scholarships online. Please register at the branch in order to take advantage of your scholarship discount.
Q: Can I donate to the YMCA online?
A: Unfortunately, online giving is not available at this time. However, you may pay off any outstanding pledges. Click the “A/R Status” button to view any outstanding pledges.
Q: Can I pay my weekly/monthly child care or camp fees online?
A. Yes! Click the “A/R Status” button to view your outstanding fees.
