International Programs
|
While you might be most familiar with the YMCA in your neighborhood, the YMCA is actually an international movement. For over 150 years, the YMCA has been building strong kids, families and communities all over the world. You can get a glimpse of the international aspect of the Y at your own local branch. Going international doesn't mean obtaining a passport, buying a plane ticket, or taking a crash course in a foreign language. In fact, some of the most exciting international works can be seen at our YMCAs. |

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" |
The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee places an international twist on programs from aquatics to camping, from families to health and fitness. We want to provide families with an international experience without leaving their local Y while building a strong spirit, mind and body. We look for ways to embrace diversity and invite the world into our lobbies, pools, and child care facilities. |
| International programs emphasize our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our programs strive to connect YMCAs around the world and create an awareness of the scope and beauty of the world around us. The YMCA is connecting millions of people from many countries worldwide. Most of our branches have a relationship with a foreign county. These "hands-across-the-border" relationships help to provide international awareness that build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. |
