Research has shown that the most critical asset in helping young people succeed is the presence of a caring adult in each of their lives. Unfortunately, many of the central city youth in Milwaukee lack sufficient positive adult support and role models. Through the YMCA Mentoring Programs, volunteer mentors provide the crucial one-on-one interaction that can make the difference in our young people's chances for success. The YMCA administers two academic mentoring programs: One on One and Sponsor-A-Scholar. We're looking for 400 new mentors by the end of this year. Please be the difference in a young person's life!
