“TRADITIONAL" DAY CAMP (Ages: 4-12)

YMCA Day Camp is filled with fun activities that allow for physical involvement, social interaction, educational opportunities, leadership building, personal growth and creativity. We focus on honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility in all of our activities, from swimming to arts & crafts and games. Day campers will be divided into groups by age with activities appropriate to the interests and needs of each group. Each week has a fun theme, and includes a field trip!

SPORTS CAMP (Ages: 5-14)

YMCA Sports Camps help children develop skills and techniques, while learning the value of sportsmanship and fair play. Each camp will include drills, skill development, learning the rules of the game and actual play all while reinforcing the core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.

SPECIALTY CAMP (Ages: Varies by camp)

Many of our locations offer a variety of specialty camps to match the many interests of today’s kids. All specialty camps have a minimum of three hours of their specialty focus, four days a week. Each week also includes swimming one to two times a week, a weekly field trip and special all camp activities. Campers must meet the minimum age requirement during the week they wish to attend. Not all Specialty Camps offered at all locations.

YMCA Camp FLY - offered at Northside and John C. Cudahy YMCAs - Ages: 4-15

Soar to new heights this summer!  Fun Learning for Youth: That’s what Camp FLY is all about. Summer break means no school for most kids, but that doesn’t mean they have to stop learning. And it certainly doesn’t mean they can’t have fun! Brand new for 2012, YMCA Camp FLY is designed to give kids a fun, summer break from the classroom, yet still keep their brains in high gear.

TEEN CAMP (Ages: Completed 6th grade and older)

This camp is for those teens meet new friends and take trips of a lifetime. Teen Camp focuses on outdoor activities, community projects, and joint activities with other YMCAs. Typically, campers will be on site on Monday to focus on leadership, service projects, teambuilding and other group activities. Tuesday through Friday we will be traveling on exciting trips with other YMCA Teen Camps in the Milwaukee area. Activities may include rock climbing, kayaking/rafting, service projects, Great America, Noah’s Ark, overnight camping trips and much more!

LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT) (Ages: 13-15 or completed 7th grade)

This team leadership program is for youth looking to grow as a responsible leader while building confidence and self-worth. Youth will learn teamwork, service, child guidance and decision making skills through activities and mentoring during the summer. All youth will be required to complete an application, will participate in an interview process (to develop job skills) and must be accepted to the programs. Youth can sign up for one session or all three-week sessions. Limited spots available each session at each location. Applications must be completed and submitted by May 1, 2012.

ADAPTIVE CAMP (Ages: 5-17) Only Available at JCY on 91st and Brown Deer Road

YMCA Adaptive Camp is a fully-inclusive program for individuals with physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional and/or multiple disabilities. Campers will have fun while participating in songs, arts and crafts, gym time, swim time, field trips and more. Activities are designed to improve and develop gross and fine motor skills along with social skills in a structured environment. The staff to camper ratio is 1:3. An intake meeting with an Adaptive Camp Staff mandatory for all first time Campers.

NEW Location – About JCY: Home of the Miracle Field (fully inclusive baseball diamond) and Miracle League, the John C. Cudahy YMCA (or JCY) is located on acres of environmentally enriching woods and fields. This location features an accessible outdoor pool, trails through the woods and around the property, a stage/theater (indoors and outdoors) and, coming soon, a fully accessible playground!
