Special Events and Family Programs
The Y provides a safe, wholesome and fun environment for families. Your entire family can be active, challenged, involved and part of a larger community striving for the same goal of a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Join us and together we can grow healthy kids, healthy families and a healthy community.

Passport to Play (Play in the Parks)

The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation and Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital and Milwaukee County Parks teamed up to launch Play in the Parks, a free program that encouraged families to get outside this past summer, get moving and enjoy an evening of games and activities.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the percentage of overweight or obese high school students is 25% for Wisconsin and 37% for the Milwaukee Public School District. For the first time in history, children may have shorter lifespan expectancies than their parents.

Due to overwhelming support of the community and the grant from Northwestern Mutual Foundation and the Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, the fun continues indoors this fall. Passport to Play will continue to keep kids and families moving – and it’s free and open to everyone.

The program is designated to support the development of family play time, and encourage good health through physical activity while strengthening families and creating community.

Winter Wonderland
Celebrate this holiday season with Santa and his friends! Bring the whole family to meet Santa and share holiday wishes with him. Holiday crafts will also be provided during this event. Don’t forget your camera for this great photo opportunity.


Little Elves Workshop
Have any last minute shopping, cookie baking, or present wrapping to do? This is the day for you. Drop off your little elves for holiday fun! Activities include arts and crafts, stories, active play and more. Please bring a healthy snack and water bottle.


Drop and Shop
Last minute shopping? Presents to wrap? Drop your children here for a couple hours for some holiday fun! Holiday activities include arts and crafts, fun games, active play and much more! Snack will be provided!
