Herb, Exercise for PD Participant
I became a member of the Y after I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD). I joined the PD exercise group and it’s been a real blessing. I fully believe that exercise is as important to combating this illness as is medication.
Ellen, Y Member
My husband and I love working out at the Y because there’s something for both of us. He uses the many weight machines and I look forward to my Y Cycle class. Y Cycle not only provides a great workout set to awesome music, but from day one I felt like I was part of […]
Skip & Pam, Y Cyclists
We chose the Y because it’s about more than just working out and staying fit. Fitness for us includes the relationships we’ve formed with great people – like our Downtown Y-Cycle “family,” which makes our Y different from other fitness organizations.
Sun, Group Exercise Participant
I love taking the group fitness classes at the Milwaukee Y because the instructors are so motivating and really help me push myself. I’ve become a better athlete since taking classes like Y-Fuse, Y-Blitz, Kettle Bells and TRX.
Mary, VP of the Star Group
The Y has been part of our wellness program since 2007. They provide Lunch and Learn sessions that cover a variety of topics for us to choose from. Our employees love these sessions and always look forward to seeing the Y’s friendly and knowledgeable staff at our office.
Kris, MPS Employee
I was a reluctant participant in our Idle Ironman challenge, but I soon realized the more I exercised, the more I wanted to exercise. This challenge promoted physical fitness and it heightened the camaraderie in our office.
Portia, Adult Achiever
We’ve built some phenomenal relationships. 100% of our seniors graduated and they’re going onto college or they’re going into the military.
Will, University School Teacher
Our students enjoy volunteering with the Milwaukee Y because it empowers them as leaders….and it teaches them how we are so much more alike than we are different. Students literally buzz for days or weeks after volunteering with the Milwaukee YMCA.
Carolyn, LIVESTRONG program graduate
The best thing about the LIVESTRONG program is that you can’t fail. It’s designed for you to succeed, and believe me, after diagnoses, biopsies, surgery, chemo and radiation, you just want to succeed at something.
