ADAPTIVE LESSONS
The Y offers adaptive lessons modified for individuals with disabilities. An individual assessment will be done by a certified instructor in order to determine placement in swim lessons.
aquatic conditioning
Aquatic Conditioning is a competitive pathway students can pursue following YMCA Swim Lessons. The program focuses on continuing to build endurance and stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and encourages swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle.
lifeguard readiness class
This course is designed to build a foundation of knowledge and skills for potential future lifeguards. It is an effective transition from the upper-level swim lesson program to a professional lifeguard.
pool side baptisms
Keeping in touch with our Christian roots, the Northside YMCA provides an accessible pool space for baptisms. Our facility offers a convenient walk-in entry and shallow depth pool. We have worked with several large and small groups throughout the community, providing a safe and enjoyable space for every baptism.
PRIVATE, SEMI-PRIVATE AND FAMILY SWIM LESSONS
Private and semi-private swim lessons provide individualized swim instruction to teach water safety and skill development in a learn to swim progression that is tailored to the individual needs of the swimmer.
scout badges
The YMCA works to provide high-quality safety and water instruction for the Pioneer Girls Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Groups can complete their water safety, Webelo Aquanaut, Boy Scout merit badges and Girl Scout badges at the Y.
